Rough Trade Publishing Branding
Our friends at Bank Robber Music have just announced that they've acquired Rough Trade Publishing over on Billboard this morning and we can finally share some of the work HAM completed leading up to the official announcement.
While the legendary Rough Trade workmark stayed the same (because, duh), we needed to create a simple container that would identify the new mark from the other Rough Trade imprints out in the world, including the record shop and the label. We also needed to incorporate the word "Publishing" in a way that also made reference to the new parent company, Bank Robber. We took BR's use of Futura for all their materials and redraw the font to create a proprietary display typeface ("Rough Trade Futura"), which is used throughout their new marketing materials.
Business cards, tote bags, t-shirts, and a website all reflect the new branding. And while we drop shipped all the goodies to SXSW, we can't wait to get our hands on some physical versions of the swag.
